Consumers Reports 411 On Home Dye, With Tips From Kiyah Wright!

The Consumer Report gave readers inside information on color at home. During the pandemic many women are turning to box color to get them through. Whether their salon is shut down or they are still a little afraid to make a trip box color is worth the pharmacy trip. CR asked 29 new box color users to try coloring their hair at home and then report back to the Consumer Report. Majority of the women had brown or gray hair and wanted to achieve a variation of colors.  Using kits by Clairol Nice’n Easy, Dark & Lovely Fade Resist, Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme, L’Oréal Excellence Crème, Revlon Colorsilk Beautiful Color, and Madison Reed, most women were fairly happy with their results. This may be because most women were not looking for a drastic change in their hair color.

According to Kiyah Wright “a drastic change in color, especially one that’s lighter than your natural tone, might not be possible with a DIY hair dye kit”. There are many things to consider when buying box color and the texture and tone of your natural hair is definitely important.
